The legend of the "Evil Eye" originated in Turkey and Greece, and was named for a sickness transmitted by someone who is envious. In those countries, the most common form of the charm is the blue glass eye, which mirrors back the blue of the evil eye and thus confounds it. The reversible heart pendant has three ridges to the left of the eye on either side. Other features include:
